A very fun slideshow showing the foods, crafts and wonder from this year's Kaziuko Muge. This annual folk arts and crafts fair is nothing short of amazing! With thanks to I LOVE LITHUANIA member Vincas Karnilas.

Ruth Bundza Reedy said… Hello Marina, So sorry to hear that you were sick during the holiday. Also, where I live in Ohio, we did not experience any of the harsh weather. We did have a lot of rain.
Anyhow, if you eat lots of onions and garlic, you will not get sick with the virus. I cook with lots of garlic and onions. I do not get the flu shot. A friend of mine stated he eats a little bit of garlic everyday and hasn't gotten sick for at least 8 years. I hope my luck doesn't run out. Hope you stay healthy this year. Happy New Year.

Ruth Bundza Reedy said… Hello Marina, Haven't been on this web site for a long time. Just thought I would let you know that I received 2 e-mails in the name of Vincas Bundza from Lt. It was not him that sent them. They were from the "Princess". they wanted me to e-mail them. they will not be able to e-mail me again. I put them in my "trash" bin.
Do you happen to know if the Lt. Bolsheviks are called "Bluetails"? I read some time ago that Lt. were called that and something about the bolsheviks. At the time I was not in a position to get the name of the book nor able to further read about this subject. I asked Vincas K. if he ever hear of it and he replied "NO". Can you shed any light on this?

Aciu labai!! So wonderful to be a part of this wonderful website!! I have been born and raised in Chicago, Illinois with wonderful parents who raised and taught 6 children to love and honor their heritage. Mano tete passed away 6 years ago at 95. He was an organist and an active writer for muzikos zinios. My mother was an opera singer for the chicago lithuanian opera for many years. We all were brought up very musically and tradithionally in the lithuanian heritage. Now that my father is passed my mother carries on the tradiotion and am so grateful to have the upbringing of my heritage so far away from my home country. My mother had the privelidge to visit lithuania a few years ago. My sister and mother went there to adopt an orphan from Lithuania and is now living with my sister and husband and 5 children in Lemont, Ill. Thank you so much for this website!! I know I will enjoy it and definitely pass it on to my family....my big sister already found it from my fb like and praised me for the info....Valio!!

They are having a conference or something at St. Casimir's Church in LA soon
according to the Saturday LA LT radio show but I forgot the details. Maybe it will
show up on their website.
There's always something going on at St. Casimir's. When school starts this fall
there'll be a bunch of events. It seemed that last school year, I'd find a flyer
on my car every week referring to some event at the church.
I'll keep my ear to the ground.
